A plane from Kenya belonging to KQ or Kenya Airways was denied from landing at Heathrow Airport in United Kingdom. This was after it was reported that there was a potential danger in the plane.
The KQ100 plane was then directed to land at Stansted airport where it was escorted to by heavy security personnel. A search was Carrie out where every passenger’s ID was scrutinized but no communication has been made on what was found out.
Kenya Airways responded saying they received a report that there was a security threat and that the plane had been intercepted and diverted to Stansted. They have said that the security to their passengers is their top priority and any threat to this is taken with seriousness it deserve.
Heathrow Airport is the world’s largest airport that receives the higher number of landing in the globe. Any threat to it would affect the whole airport operations globally. This is why the flight had to be diverted to Stansted so that Heathrow Airport do not receive the standoff.
