Popular Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz has been exposed on social media for allegedly copy-pasting Nigerian songs.The Number one hit maker has been trending as a topic of discussion in Nigeria.
A twitter user went ham on Platnumz songs listing a number of songs he is alleged to have copied. In the listed songs, there’s a striking resemblance between the melodies that Diamond uses in his songs and the ones from Nigeria.
This latest expose has sparked a lot of debate and reactions among fans as most fans took to social media to defend him. A section of internet users asserted that Diamond was just inspired to make similar sounds to those that are already in the market.
Another group of internet users said that Diamond was just sampling the listed songs adding that his move is not considered a crime in the industry.Diamond Platnumz was also accused of copy-pasting other musicians’ songs. Many have compared the musician to top music star Burns Boy who hails from Nigeria.
