Team Kenya topped the African continent and finished fifth globally as the 2023 World Athletics Championships came to a close in Budapest, Hungary.
Kenya’s ‘dancing queen’ Mary Moraa won the last gold for Kenya in the women’s 800m. This made Kenya get a total of 10 medals; 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze, making their performance better than the Oregon performance.
USA finished top of the world with 29 medals; comprising of 12 Gold, 8 Silver and 9 Bronze, while Canada finished second with 6 medals; 4 Gold and 2 Bronze. Spain came third with 5 medals, 4 Gold and 1 Bronze as Jamaica was placed fourth with 12 medals; 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 4 Bronze.
