Gems Cambridge International School bought the school for 1.5 billion, shuttered its KSh3 billion facility, and transferred its pupils to Hillcrest. Light International Schools has 3 Nairobi, 1 Mombasa, and 1 Malindi schools. Schools provide British and 8-4-4 curriculum. Karen has the high school, Lavington the primary, and Lenana the kindergarten. All schools provide British curriculum, however only Karen and Mombasa offer 8-4-4. 8-4-4 schools excel academically. The Karen branch has been among the top 10 KCSE schools for 10 years.
