As the war against terrorism in Kenya gets more intensed, detectives from the DCI have arrested 41-year-old man who is suspected to be a terrorist. During the arrest, they recovered a firearm loaded with 6 rounds of ammunitions.
During the operation conducted in the Riruta area in Kiambu County, the officers arrested Ferdinand Indangasi near Skymatt supermarket where they found him with five sachets of narcotic substance believed to be cocaine.They scrutinize his mobile phone and they realized he had radicalization texts and writings containing extremist teachings, similar to the Al-Shabaab Terrorists.
Ferdinand Indangasi led the detectives to his house located where they recovered a Glock pistol loaded with six rounds of 9mm caliber, Ksh 31k in cash and 25Kgs of 4-inch nails suspected to be used in the assembling of improvised explosive devices, IEDs.
A quick background search by the Anti Terror Unit officers revealed that the suspect is a frequent criminal who had been jailed for over 15 years at the Shimo la Tewa prison.
