Raymond Omollo is the current permanent secretary in the ministry of Interior and Cordination of internal security. He was appointed by William Ruto and he is serving in the ministry which is led by Kithure Kindiki.
Raymond Omollo was born on 27th December in 1979 in Kanyipir location, Rachuonyo subcounty in Homa Bay county. Details about his family such as his father, mother and other siblings is not availabe.
Details on his primary and secondary education journey are not available but he must have attended the local primary school and secondary school; Oriwo boys.
Between 2004 and 2006, he earned a master’s degree in biometry from the University of Nairobi. In 2015, he earned a doctorate in applied statistics from Maseno University.
Dr. Omollo is trained in biostatistics. In 2002, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of Nairobi, as well as a diploma in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from the University of Washington.
Dr. Omollo formerly worked as a data manager at the University of Namibia (UoN) until 2006, following which he became the Head of the Data Centre and Statistician at the Data for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi) until 2019.
Omollo was the Managing Director of the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA), which is based in Kisumu County and is responsible for the socioeconomic development of 18 counties in the Lake Victoria basin region.
He has also provided consulting services to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Africa Medical Research Foundation (AMREF), Hoffman La Roche, and I-TECH.
Between 2015 and 2018, Omollo was a Non-Executive Board Member of Consolidated Bank of Kenya, where he chaired the risk and credit committee as well as the finance committee.
