Raila dared alleged renegade lawmakers chosen by the political party to resign from their positions and ask voters for new elections. According to Mr. Odinga, despite their alleged loyalty to the ruling party, the rebels do not deserve to hold seats in Parliament on ODM tickets.
The head of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party advised the aforementioned leaders to resign and run for office again in the banner of the current government, Kenya Kwanza, if they truly want to do so.
The 8 rebel MPs requested the president to speak with Azimio leader Raila and explain their situation, even though they insisted they are not sorry for cooperating with President William Ruto despite being called by their party’s disciplinary committee.
