Tom ojienda is a Kenyan senior counsel and the current senator of Kisumu county. He became popular after he was among the rebel ODM party members of parliament who decided to work with William Ruto’s administration and got expelled from the party.

Ojienda is originally from Gem Rae in Siaya county but he lives in Nyakach, Kisumu county. He now identrifies as a Kisumu county resident after buying land in Nyakach. He was born in the year 1969 though exact date and month of birth is not known.

He has also taught for almost 10 years at Moi University. He is also an avid scholar, having edited and written over 10 books and thirty papers on various subjects of law.
Prof. Tom Ojienda won the Kisumu senate seat in the August 9th, 2022 general elections on the ODM party ticket. However, he rebelled against the party by deciding to join hands with the Kenya Kwanza administration which led to his expulsion from the party.
