PRESIDENT RUTO ALLIED LUO MPS RE-AFFIRM THEIR LOYALTY TO THE HEAD OF STATE | RAILA DEMOS LOOMING

The Luo Community is currently divided in two factions. Thise pro William Ruto and those who have sworn to support Raila Odinga no matter what. Some of the Luo Nyanza MPs especially those who were elected and reelected to paliarment with the ODM party have since August 2022 found it fit to be swallowed by the ruling government and are throwing their weight behind President Ruto or WSR as he is popularly known.

This leaves a bone of contention within the party despite some good motive to bring development to the people. However bad the move is for the ODM party the Luo Nyanza MPs seem to have found a new home at state house rather than Orange House. The MPs have today in the company of ICT CS Eliud Owalo and Interior PS Raymond Omollo met President Ruto once again pending the July 7th “Maandamano” announced by Raila in revolt to the current government which he terms as a suppressor of the common mwananchi.

William Ruto and his UDA brigade however feels it is time to burry the hartchet forge ahead in unity as a nation and stop the demonstrations. However The Finance Bill and High Cost Living remain an elephant in the room.

The meeting comes also just days after the Homabay Luo Cultural events hosted by Governors Gladys Wanga, Ochilo Ayacko, Anyang Nyongo and James Orengo. The event was intended to oversee the coronation of a new Luo Council Of Elders Chief who has since assumed his role.

At the same time PS Raymond was holding a parallel prayer meeting at his Mbita High School, in conjunction with a fundraising activity.

One other notable stretch of the two sets of luo leaders is the sramble for football teams Gor Mahia and Migori Youth FC. Both factions have donated their time and money to see the clubs grow and most conspicuous is the way in which they strive to be a part of them.

See how the Luo leaders allied to President Ruto spoke right after the meeting.

PRESIDENT WILLIAM RUTO : We will work with leaders across the country without reservation or discrimination, regardless of political affiliation, to deliver services to the people. This is what the Constitution demands and what all Kenyans deserve.

Met MPs from Nyanza at State House Nairobi on Tuesday. They included Mr Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Mr Tom Ojienda (Kisumu Senator), Mr Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Mr Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) and Mr Mark Nyamita (Uriri).

Others were Mr Paul Abuor (Rongo) and Mr Felix Odiwuor – Jalango Mwenyewe (Lang’ata). Also at the meeting were ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo and Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo.
