The Nyamira county assembly and the county at large is mourning after the sudden death of the county assembly Majority leader Elijah Osiemo. Elijah, who was also the member of county assembly for Nyamaiya ward was involved in a road accident yesterday evening the claimed his life.
According to the information, Elijah, together with other two members of county assembly were traveling along the Mai Mahiu – Naivasha road where the accident happened. He died on the spot while the other two occupants escaped with serious injuries and were rushed to hospital where they are being treated.
The others were Duke Masira, who is Nyamira Township Ward MCA. He is also the Deputy Majority Leader in the Nyamira county Assembly, and Nominated MCA Priscillah Nyatichi. They were headed to Nairobi for a ‘crucial’ meeting according to information from the office of the governor.
Nyamira county governor Amos Nyaribo while delivering the sad news mourned Elijah as a man who was devoted to his duties and his course to change the lives of his people and Nyamira county residents at large. He asked for prayers to Elijah’s family at this hard time and also wished quick recovery to the two other MCAs who were injured.
