**”ACT-Wazalendo Vice Chairman Othman Masoud Calls for Unity and Service”**
Othman Masoud Othman, the Vice Chairman of ACT-Wazalendo in Zanzibar and the First Vice President of Zanzibar, has emphasized the importance of unity and service among leaders at various levels. He called on them to understand their roles in ensuring that all the people of the country regain their faith in living with dignity and hope.
Speaking at a special meeting with the newly appointed leaders of the ACT-Wazalendo party at the constituency and branch levels from the Chake Chake and Mkoani regions in the South Pemba region, Othman Masoud stressed the need for these new leaders to serve the public with principles of peace, unity, stability, reconciliation, and solidarity. He also emphasized the importance of restoring the country’s honor, authority, and addressing poverty and hardships in people’s lives.
Othman Masoud highlighted the challenges faced by the youth, elderly, women, and children in Unguja and Pemba, including weaknesses in the provision of essential social services, which have left citizens uncertain about their basic daily needs, forcing some to rely on handouts. He pointed out that this situation was not due to a lack of resources but rather a lack of visionary leadership and good governance.
He also mentioned external forces that have sought to influence and control Zanzibar, noting that these challenges had not deterred the people’s determination to preserve their autonomy and dignity. Othman Masoud encouraged the new leaders to put the interests of the people first and avoid seeking personal gain or positions.
He further called for unity and reminded the leaders of the sacrifices made by those who had been killed, persecuted, displaced, and lost their homes during the struggle for justice and fairness. Othman Masoud urged them to work together to uplift the people’s dignity, promote national unity, and serve the best interests of all citizens.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed the importance of unity, commitment, and the party’s vision in advancing the goals of ACT-Wazalendo. They also reaffirmed their dedication to the party’s principles and the well-being of the people.
The First Vice President of Zanzibar, Mheshimiwa Othman Masoud Othman, together with various leaders of ACT-Wazalendo on the island, convened a special meeting held at the Samael Gombani Hall in the South Pemba Region today.
