OHANGLA MUSIC MANAGER WITH A TOUCH OF GOLD | MEET KOKOMOH VICTOR

Victor Okomoh popularly known as Kokomoh Victor Piny Yore or The Love Doc was born in 1989 in Kamser Lieta, Karachuonyo Homa Bay County. Unknown to many, Kokomo got into the music industry as an artist before starting to manage various artists and helping them make breakthroughs.

Kokomo’s first assignment in music was with Ohangla artist Owino Kitoto in 2010 in Nairobi where he worked as a backup artist in the Band. Owino Kitoto is famously known for his collabo with Octopizo on Ohangla-Hip hop hit ” Samoro Apari Mum”

In 2013, Kokomo teamed up with Koffi Mc’Adory to start Nyikendo Superstars, where Kokomo changed his role from the initial back up artist to a Band manager. It is during this time that Koffi recorded his hit song ‘Thum Dhi Siaya”

This song later sparked controversy as Emma Jalamo recorded another song with the same rhythm, beats and words titled ‘Adede Eng.’ two months later and claimed Koffi had stolen his song, the genesis of the say ” Wuon thum gi Jakuo thum”

Kokomo decided to have a sabbatical from the industry and briefly worked for Rocky Driving School in Nairobi. He later moved to Sky Villa Club as the manager, then to Makaru Gardens as Operations Manager before working at Club Meladen as Marketing Manager.

In 2016, Kokomo joined Super Latino Band of Musa Jakadala as the Marketing Manager. During his time, Musa not only started having shows outside Nairobi but he also recorded some of his best songs like Nyasiaya and Hera Remo which shook the airwaves.

In 2017, Kokomo joined Freddy Jakadongo’s Blessed Ohangla Young Turks Band . He had first met Freddy while working at Club Meladen in Nairobi and saw potentials in him . He took over as his manager and they changed their base from Kisumu’s Club Sizex to Nairobi.
During his time as the Manager, Freddy managed to release some of the best hits like Dag e Ngima Miyiero, Timbe Hera , In E Jaherana , Hera Lore and the Band extensively grew . The Band was also among the best and the most organized in the Industry.

In 2021, Kokomo joined Okoth Jarapogi’s GK Band as the Band Manager. This is where he currently works. Between 2021 when he joined till today Okoth has recorded hit songs like Singo En Gowi, Pim Gi Mari and Chieny Kiyany. GK Band has also registered itself as one of the best Ohangla bands in Luoland.
Victor Kokomo is happily married with three children.
