The Court of Appeal has delivered a good news to Lagdera member of parliament Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed after overturning the High Court’s earlier ruling that had nullified his election.

The ruling done on Friday, August 25, has reinstated Mohamed as the legitimate member of parliament for the constituency.

In a joint ruling by the bench comprised of Justices K. M’inoti, H.A. Omondi, and Ngenye Macharia, a thorough review of the case was done and declared that Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed’s victory was fair. He was elected under ODM party ticket. He got 5,939 votes during the August elections,  ahead of his closest contender, Abdiqani Zeitun, who managed 4,863 votes.
