Even before Jackie Maribe could start enjoying her freedom from the murder charges against her in the death if businesswoman Monica Kimani, she is seemingly going back to battle the state.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, ODPP, has filed a petition to challenge the ruling by high court that Jackie Maribe is innocent in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Sitting at the Milimani Law court, she Justice Grace Nzioka acquitted Maribe of her charges saying that the prosecution did not satisfy the court with concrete evidences to link Maribe in the murder. She noted that Maribe only provided inaccurate information and the fact that her phone was off the day of the incident does not mean she was involved.
Now the ODPP has moved to challenge the decision as they express their dissatisfaction with the ruling, insisting that Maribe was fully aware and took part in the planning and execution of the murder of Monica Kimani.
Jowi Irungu who was the main suspect was found guilty and is set to be read for his jail terms next month. He was found guilty of killing the lady who was somehow involved with him in some sort of love affairs but motive behind the killing is not known.
If the petition by ODPP is taken then Maribe will be faced with fresh court battles to get back her freedom.
