Musa Jakadala’s real name is Obok Moses Odhiambo. He is a Luo musician doing the popular Ohangla genre and it took him seven years with a small audience before breaking through to his current status. He is the second last in a family of eight children and is from Ugenya Ugunja in Siaya County.

Jakadala is the Founder and Director at Kadallas Tours & Adventures. He has since moved to Nairobi where he now lives. He is also the CEO founder of SUPER LATIN OHANGLA GUYS.

LIFE HISTORY

Musa Jakadalla is the son of Mrs. Consolate Obok and the late Joseph Obok. He was born in 1989 and is currently 32 years. After the death of his father, he had to drop out of class in eight. He arrived in Nairobi in 2006 through a friend and stayed in the Kayole. He worked for free as a trained mechanic at Damco Auto Garage for four months.

Kadala later went to work for the same garage’s car wash. He re-enroll in St. Agnes High School after earning some money. He started but never finished a mechanics diploma program.

MUSIC JOURNEY

His music journey started in 2010 as a lead vocalist with the Blaze Africa Band, which was created and led by Goddy Mayaka and the late Odongo Mayaka at Club Village in Kayole. Kadala released a single called “Nyar Alego” in 2013. He left Jodalla’s club in Dandora and started his own band of six guys. His lack of popularity would make him perform for empty seats. Jakadalla subsequently went on to secure a new contract with Club Nectar, where he began performing every Wednesday.

Their first paid gig at Nectar cost them Sh 6000, of which they spent Sh 2500 on music equipment. Musa was a fighter who never gave up. “Nyiri Dwaro Ang’o” was his next album, followed by “Nyar Siaya.” With time, they began performing in various bars across Dandora, and their payments increased.

His produces his songs at Leemax, Gwasi, and Barikiwa studios. The band currently has more than 18 members and performs at a variety of places he is the leader of Super Latin Ohangla Guys. His music style is influenced by Dola Kabary and Osogo Winyo.
