Moses Kuria is a prominent Kenyan politician and leader who has grown to become a common and vocal figure on matters politics and leadership. His way of life and controversies have played major roles in his rise to popularity.

Birth

Moses Kuria was born in his rural home in Gatundu South on the 19th of February in 1971. He was born as the fifth child in a family of nine children. Information about his parents are scanty making it hard to know more about his family.

Education

Kuria starte his education at Githunya Primary school and later was admitted at Ituri secondary school where he sat for his KCSE. He then joined the University of Nairobi to take a degree course in commerce. While at UoN he served the Students Organization of Nairobi University as the treasurer of the body which formed some parts of his political ambitions.

Career

Kuria is a banker and has worked in banks out of the country and within the country. In 2009, Kuria was the manager of business processes at the AI Rajhi Bank in Saudi Arabia. Before then in 2007, he worked as the Chief Operating Officer at the Wamad Information Services in Dubai.

Moses Kuria headed the business Process at Africa Standard Chartered Bank in 1995. In 1994, he was the auditor at the Family, Finance and Building Society.

Political Career

In past interviews, Kuria revealed that the late third Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki was his main inspiration in politics and he admired his style a lot. He joined Kibaki’s team through Uhuru Kenyatta’s KANU party.

His first call up to leadership came in 2014 when he was elected unopposed as the Gatundu South mp following the death of the then mp Jossy Ngugi. He won the by election and became the new Gatundu South MP.

He was reelected in 2017 through the Jubilee Party and he served as the mp till 2022 general elections when he decided to vie as Kiambu county governor through his Chama Cha Kazi party that he formed in 2021 but lost terribly to now the governor Kimani wa Matangi.

Kuria conceded defeat and revealed that he would quit active and elective politics till further notice to concentrate on his private businesses. He also quit social media only to make a drastic comeback arguing the his fans sought for him.

He would be appointed as the cabinet secretary for Investment, trade and industry by William Ruto on 27th September 2022 making him be back into limelight and politics.

Wife

Kuria is married to his wife Joyce Njambi whom he met while they were bot working in a bank in Saudi Arabia. The two are blessed with two sons who were born in Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

Net Worth

During his vetting as the trade cs, Kuria said that he is worth over 750 million Kenyan shillings both in cash and assets.
