Maseno University Fees Structure

Maseno University fees structure is divided into two main sections; Direct Entry Government Sponsored and Direct Entry Self Sponsored. Read on to find out the amounts you’ll pay for different courses.

Direct entry for sponsored students first-year fee structure

For first-semester students who are sponsored by the government are required to pay a total sum of Ksh.24,650. This amount consists of

  • Tuition fees Ksh.8,000
    Accommodation Ksh.2,900
    Registration fees Ksh.250
    Examination fees Ksh.1,500
    Caution money, Ksh.1,200
    Activity fees Ksh.1,200
    Medical expenses Ksh.2,500
    Students’ identity cards Ksh.300
    Students’ organization fees Ksh.300
    Computer fees Ksh.5,000
    Maintenance fees Ksh.500 and library fees Ksh.1,000.

For the second semester, you are required to pay:

  • Tuition fees Ksh.8,000
    Registration fees Ksh.250
    Examination fees Ksh.1,500
    Maintenance Ksh.500
    Accommodation Ksh.2,900

Direct entry for self-sponsored students’ first-year fees structure

If you would like to take the following courses; B.SC. Computer Science & Technology, B.SC. Biomedical Science & Technology, Medical Laboratory, Public Health: Nutrition & Dietetics: Pharmaceutical Science: Bachelor of Special Needs Education and B.A. Communication and Media Technology. You are required to pay a sum of Kshs.86,650. The fees are split into the following sections:

  • Tuition fees Ksh.70,000
    Accommodation Ksh.2,900
    Examinations fees Ksh.1,500
    Caution money, Ksh.1,200
    Activity fees Ksh.1,200
    Medical expenses Ksh.2,500
    Registration fees Ksh.250
    Students’ identity card Ksh.300
    Students’ organization fees Ksh.300
    Computer fees Ksh.5,000
    Library fees Ksh.1,000
    Maintenance Ksh.500
    Total Ksh.86,650.

In the second semester, you will pay:

  • Tuition fees Ksh.60,000
    Registration fees Ksh.250
    Examination fees Ksh.1,500
    Maintenance Ksh.500
    Accommodation fees Ksh.2,900
    Total Ksh.65,150.

First-year direct entry self-sponsored students

First-year direct entry self–sponsored students who are taking Bachelor of Science (science-based programs) and a bachelor of science education fee structure for the first semester is as follows:

  • Tuition fees Ksh.55,000
    Accommodation fees Ksh.2,900
    Examination fees Ksh.1,500
    Caution money, Ksh.1,200
    Activity fees Ksh.1,200
    Medical costs Ksh.2,500
    Registration fees Ksh.250
    Student identity card Ksh.300
    Student’s organization fees Ksh.300
    Computer fees Ksh.5,000
    Library fees Ksh.1,000
    Maintenance fees Ksh.500
    Total Ksh.71,650

For the second semester, you will pay for

  • Tuition Fees Ksh.55,000
    Registration Fees Ksh.250,
    Examination Fees Ksh.1,500
    Maintenance Fees Ksh.500 and Accommodation fee Ksh.2,900 totaling to Ksh.60,150.

Direct entry first-year self-sponsored students

Maseno University fees for first-year direct entry self-sponsored students who are taking Bachelor of Arts (Arts-based programs) and Bachelor of Arts Education courses in the first semester are required to pay the following:

  • Tuition fees Ksh.55,000
    Accommodation fees Ksh.2,900
    Examination Fees Ksh.1,500
    Caution Money Ksh.1,200
    Activity Fees Ksh.1,200
    Medical Fees Ksh.2,500
    Registration Fees Ksh.250
    Students Identity Card Ksh.300
    Student Organization Fees Ksh.300
    Computer Fees Ksh.5,000
    Library Fees Ksh.1,000
    Maintenance Fees Ksh.500
    Totaling to Ksh.66,650.

For the second semester you will pay for:

  • Tuition Fees Ksh.50,000
    Registration Fees Ksh.250
    Examination Fees Ksh.1,500
    Maintenance Fees Ksh.500
    Accommodation Ksh.2,900
    Totaling to Ksh.55,150.

Continuing students sponsored by the Government

Maseno University Fees structure for continuing students who are sponsored by the government- KUCCPS is as follows:

  • Tuition Fees Ksh.8,000
    Accommodation Ksh.2,900
    Registration Fees Ksh.250
    Examination Fees Ksh.1,500
    Activity Fees Ksh.1,200
    Medical Fees Ksh.2,500
    Student Organization Fees Ksh.300
    Computer Fees Ksh.5,000
    Maintenance Fees Ksh.500
    Library Fees Ksh.1,000
    Totaling to Ksh.23,150.

The second-semester fees structure consists of:

  • Tuition Fees Ksh.8,000
    Registration Fees Ksh.250
    Examination Fees Ksh.1,500
    Maintenance Fees Ksh.500
    Accommodation Ksh.2,900
    Totaling to Ksh.13,150.

Continuing direct entry self-sponsored students

Fees structure for continuing direct entry students who are self-sponsored taking these courses B.SC. Computer Science & Technology; B.SC. Biomedical Science & Technology; Bachelor of special needs education and B.A. Communication and media technology for the first semester is as follows:

  • Tuition Fees Ksh.70,000
    Accommodation Ksh.2,900
    Examination Fees Ksh.1,500
    Activity Fees Ksh.1.200
    Medical Fees Ksh.2,500
    Registration Fees Ksh.250
    Student Organization Fees Ksh.300
    Computer Fees Ksh.5,000
    Library Fees Ksh.1,000
    Maintenance Fees Ksh.500
    Total of Ksh.85,150.

For the second semester, you will pay the following:

  • Tuition Fees Ksh.60,000,
    Registration Fees Ksh.250,
    Examination Fees Ksh.1,500,
    Maintenance Fees Ksh.500,
    Accommodation Ksh.2,900.
    The total amount you will pay in that semester is Ksh.65,150.

    Accommodation Ksh.2,900
    Examination Fees Ksh.1,500
    Activity Fees Ksh.1,200
    Medical Fees Ksh.2,500
    Registration Fees Ksh.250
    Student Organization Fees Ksh.300
    Computer Fees Ksh.5,000
    Library Fees Ksh.1,000
    Maintenance Fees Ksh.500
    Total is Ksh.65,150.

The second semester will pay the following fees:

  • Tuition Fees Ksh.50,000
    Registration Fees Ksh.250
    Examination Fees Ksh.1,500
    Maintenance Fees Ksh.500
    Accommodation Ksh.2,900
    The total amount will be Ksh.55,150.

The students who are in programs with industrial attachments such as teaching practice, fieldwork components will pay a sum of Ksh.10,000 in a year for industrial attachments.
