Sometimea people whom we give responsibilities to help us or do a job for us may turn to be our enemies. A young man is now chilling his heals behind the bars after he was found guilty of stealing a lot of money from someone who trusted him with a job.
Gabriel Wandere who was a carwash attendant was found guilty of stealing over ksh. one million from a client’s car. This happened in Komarock area in Nairobi.
He was given this sentence by Senior Principal Magistrate Gerald Mutiso of the Makadara Law Courts after admitted to theft charges. He said that he stole the money from businessman Dennis Kabaika on August 15, 2023 contrary to section 268 (1) of the Penal Code.
The DCI officers recovered ksh. 800,000 from him during arrest at his rural home in Namuchila village, Butula in Busia County on August 18, 2023. This amount was handed back to Mr Kabaika.
Court determined that Gabriel to pay ksh. 200,000 to top up the amount recovered from him or else he serve his two years in jail.
