List of MPs and Senators who have not spoken in parliament

Mzalendo Trust has released its first scorecard of the 13th Parliament. In the report, 15 members of both houses have not made any contributions in the floor of the house. This list includes even those who had been mentioned in previous scorecards of the 12th Parliament. The 2023 Parliamentary Scorecard covers the period between September 29, 2022, to June 30, 2023.

For the 12th parliament, the members of parliament who did not make any contributions were;

  • Oscar Sudi – Kapseret
  • George Aladwa – Makadara
  • Samuel Arama – Nakuru Town West

The MPs who are yet to make their maiden speeches are;

  • Ronald  Karauri – Kasarani
  • Mohamed Soud – Mvita
  • Paul Chebor – Rongai
  • Ernest Kagesi – Vihiga
  • Joseph Iraya – Nominated
  • Teresia Wanjiru – Nominated
  • Elizabeth Kailemia – Meru Woman Rep
  • Muthoni Marubu – Lamu Woman Rep

Maiden speech is the official introductory speech made by members of parliament who are elected for the first time.

MPs who have not spoken in 13th parliament are;

  • Fred Kapondi – Mt Elgon
  • Charles Gimose – Hamisi
  • Feisal Bader – Msambweni
  • Innocent Momanyi – Bobasi
  • Mohamed Soud – Mvita

Most active mps are;

  • Makali Mulu – Kitui Central
  • Beatrice Elachi – Dagoretti North
  • James Nyikal – Seme
  • Ken Chonga – Kilifi South

In the Senate, the most active senators were;

  • Samson Cherargei – Nandi
  • Eddy Oketch – Migori
  • John Kinyua – Laikipia
  • Mohamed Faki – Mombasa

Most active youthful MPs;

  • Gitonga Mukunji – Manyatta
  • Irene Mayaka – Nominated
  • Josses Lelmengit – Emugwen
  • Robert Basil – Yatta
  • Amos Mwago – Starehe
  • Joshua Kimilu – Kaiti

Least active youthful MPs

  • Japheth Nyakundi – Kitutu Chache North
  • Zaheer Jhanda – Nyabari Chache
  • Teresia Wanjiru – Nominated

The least active Senators were;

  • Mirah Abdullahi – Nominated
  • Joyce Korir – Nominated
  • Shakilla Abdalla – Nominated,
  • George Mbugua – Nominatedand
  • Issa Boy Juma – Kwale

The least active youth Senators were;

  • Chimera Mwinzago – Nominated,
  • Hezena Lemaletian – Nominatedand
  • Karen Nyamu – Nominated
