Khaligraph Jones is arguably one of the best if not the best rapper in Kenya and East Africa. Early life
Khaligraph Jones was born and named as Brian Robert Ouko Omollo in honor of the Kenyan minister Robert Ouko who was killed in 1990. With time when he started his music career, he adopted the name Khaligraph Jones as his stage name. He also adopts nickaname of Papa Jones or OG. This talented rapper was born on 12th June, 1990 in Kayole slums in Nairobi but his ancestral home is Bondo in present day Siaya County.
Wife and Children
Papa Jones is married, has a daughter, and is expecting another child. He is married to the stunning Georgina Muteti, and the two of them have a daughter named Amila, who was born first. His ex-girlfriend has accused him of abusing her, and it appears that this is what caused their breakup.
Education and Career
It is not clear how his education journey was but he allegedly dropped out of form form after his mother was unable to cater for his schooling and also provide for the family. After dropping out he then started gambling his ways in music industry when he participated in and won the Channel O Mcee Africa Competition when he was just 19. He said that his brother has been an inspiration.
Awards
Khaligraph bhas done a lot of songs that have made him win several awards. He was named “Best Rap Act of the Year” at the fifth annual African Muzik Magazine Awards 2018 (Afrimma), which took place at House of Blues in Dallas, Texas, in 2018. The Soundcity MVP Awards in January 2020 recognized him as the greatest Hip Hop talent. The event was held in Lagos, Nigeria at the Eko Convention Center.
He received a 2020 BET Award nomination. He received a nomination for Best International Flow. He faced competition from grime rapper Stormzy from the UK, as well as Nasty C from South Africa, DJonga from Brazil, Kaaris from Ivory Coast, and other artists. He was recognized by MTN Uganda in May 2021 as the East African Rapper of the Year.
