Kenya’s under 18 football team has managed to make it to the finals of the CECAFA for under 18 after a heated game against Tanzanian side. The game ended with barren draw at full time and extra time.
After this unbreakable tie, the competition which was semi finals went to penalty shootout where team Kenya managed to go through after defeating the Tanzania 4-3. This came thanks to goalkeeper Ibrahim Wanzala who saved twice to give Kenya hopes. Syphas Owuor sealed it for the Junior Stars after scoring the last penalty.
Kenya will now face off with their neighbors Uganda in the finals. Uganda eliminated their neighbors Rwanda on regular time to book their space for the finals.
Kenya’s under 18 stared at the competition after winning all their 3 group matches scoring over 11 goals. They have been the favorites to win the cup but Uganda can prove a hard nut to crack.
