Kenyans today experienced a serious hitch on the M-Pesa services that paralyzed a lot of activities. The delay was majorly on the Lips na MPesa service.
Safaricom came out to give a statement asking for forgiveness and patience from affected customers as they were working to restore the mess.
However, curious Kenyans quickly started spreading rumors of a possibility of M-Pesa being merged with the Kenya Revenue Authority system to track how Kenyans spend using M-Pesa vis-a-vis their tax return.
Despite this widespread rumors there is no any evidence of such a merger and both the KRA and M-Pesa have not addressed anything to do with it.
