KENYAN CYBER SPACE HACKED | eCITIZEN, MPESA, KPLC AMONG PARALYSED SYSTEMS.
Kenyans will be having a long day if not a long week after it emerged that crucial service applications are currently compromised. Despite an official statement from ICT CS Eliud Owalo of the speedy recovery Government is engaged in as we speak, Kenyans are unable to access the following systems.
1) E Citizen Portal
2) My Safaricom App
3) Safaricom Mpesa
4) KPLC USSD
5) MShwari
6) KCB Mpesa
7) Bank to Mpesa Transaction
8) Equity
This is a rare situation that has never befallen our cyberspace and we are not sure for how long the crisis will continue.
One very sad bit is the hacking of eCitizen Portal which serves more than 20 million Kenyans in a day, providing access to services of different nature. It would also mean our national Revenue systems have been affected too.
Kenyans are just praying and hoping things return to normalcy.
