On Saturday, the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) announced a nationwide recruitment of servicemen and women from August 28 to September 8, 2023. There will be recruitment for general service officers cadets, speciality officers, tradesmen/women, general duty recruits, and defense forces constables.
Prospective applicants must be at least 1.6 meters tall for men and 1.52 meters tall for women, weigh at least 54 kilos for men and 50 kilograms for women, and have a valid Kenyan ID card. Candidates for GSO cadets and general duty recruits must also be between the ages of 18 and 26. Specialist officers, tradesmen, and tradeswomen must be under 30 years old.
Applicants must satisfy the following requirements to be considered for KDF recruitment:
- Must be a Kenyan citizen with proper identity.
- The age should be between 18 and 27.
- Must have at least a C in KCSE or equivalent.
- English proficiency and computer literacy.
- A clean criminal record is required.
- Medical fitness is required.
