After waiting for over two months after finalizing their last paper in the KCSE 2023 exams, the candidates can finally know how they performed in the exams after the ministry of education released the results today.
The event of the released was devolved from the normal Mitihani House where the KNEC is headquartered to Moi Girls Eldoret in Uasin Gishu county. The education cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu led all the education stakeholders in this event after he had a brief with president William Ruto in the morning.
According to the statistics released, there were a total of 899, 453 candidates who sat the examinations. Out of these, 448899 were girls while 450554 were boys. On the results, the total number of candidates who qualified for the C+ and above are 201,133. These fall in the category that can benefit for government funding to take up university courses.
Only 1,216 candidates scored the A plain grades out of the total number of candidates while a total of 48174 managed grade E. The ministry said that 4113 candidates got involved in the exam irregularities and 4 of them got their results cancelled.
