Senator Edwin Sifuna is among the vocal legislators in Kenya currently, going by his constant attack on Kenya Kwanza regime and his ability to tackle his opponents in television panel interviews.
Today, Sifuna made headlines after he took on the government over their spending spree on entertainment. While speaking on Day Break in Citizen tv, SSifuna said that the government officials have been spending a lot of public funds on travel and entertainment.
“There has been an increase in the money spent by govt on traveling and entertainment,” he said.
Sifuna sarcastically attacked deputy president Rigathi Gachagua over the advertisement for seafood supply for his office. Sifuna said Rigathi knows nothing about seafood and that he is more of a mtura person than seafood.
“The office of the Deputy President put out an advertisement for a seafood supply. What does Gachagua know about seafood? Huyo ni mtu wa mtura,” he said.
He questioned why the government is spending billions on high end lifestyle in terms of entertainment led by the office of the president.
“There is been a 24% increase in money spent on hospitality. The money spent on bashes, travel, and entertainment and you will not be surprised the government entity spending at least 2.3M on hospitality is the president’s office,” he said.
