The first daughter of the nation, Charlene Ruto has been appointed as an ambassador for the blood donation drive in the health ministry by minister Susan Nakhumincha.
In a letter that the minister wrote to Charlene and which Ruto’s daughter has received with open arms and uploaded it to her online pages, she was appointed to lead blood donation drives due to her recent actions on the issue of blood.
“This is through your regular blood donation, advocacy, education and awareness, your family members, community, colleagues and the general public to participate in blood donation,” reads part of the letter. The letter copied to the Secretary General of the Government Department of Medical Services further states that the Ministry of Health recognizes Charlene’s efforts to gather resources that support blood donation activities and blood establishment.
“This letter is to appoint you as a Kenyan Blood Ambassador and ask you to continue to be a spokesperson for your friends, family of Kenyan youth, colleagues, and Kenyan citizens and to engage and encourage young people to donate blood to save lives from time to time. ,” Nakhumicha said.
Expressing her gratitude for being appointed, Ruto’s daughter thanked Minister Nakhumincha and said that she has accepted the new unit with open arms.
