Ferdinand Omanyala Age
Ferdinand Omanyala was born on 2nd January 1996 in Kitale, Trans Nzoia county. His father is Fred Omurwa and mother is Shikanda Omurwa. He is a third born son. Their family relocated to Tongaren in Bungoma where they settled.

Omanyala attended a local primary school within Bungoma and when he finished his primary education, he joined Friends School Kamusinga for secondary education. Omanyala performed well and was admitted to University of Nairobi for a degree in Chemistry and physical sciences.

Omanyala discovered his talent while still in high school and when he joined university he was determined to achieve something out of this. Initially he was a rugby player and one of his friends saw him play rugby and told him to consider venturing into athletics as his speed was somehow good.
He started his sporting career while still in high school at form three where he joined Friends school Kamusinga rugby team. He was to join the Kenya Sevens Teams Under-20 (U20) after high school but the trials did not happen. This made him lose interest in rugby and started as a local athlete and won in almost all the races. Dancan Ayimba noticed his talent and decided to help him nurture it.
In 2021, he was featured in the second AK relay series, where he ran the 100m-race in 10.11 seconds. He qualified for Tokyo Olympics after running for 10.02 seconds, and this brought him to the limelight. On 31st July 2021, Ferdinand completed the Tokyo Olympics and became the first Kenyan to qualify for the 100m semi-final race.

He is married to Laventa Omanyala who is also a sprinter with her best time being 12 seconds in 100 meters. They met first in 2016 in a sporting event in Nakuru where they were competing for their respective companies and they would meet again in December, after which they started chatting. They have been together for more than five years and have a child named Quinton Finn Omanyala.
