A family in Homa Bay county is now in pain after cruel murder of their kin who was a boda boda rider. The incident happened at night when unknown group of people stormed their home at night and took him outside where they killed him and burnt his body.
The man identified as Joseph Nyambok, who was a boda boda rider, met his death on July 13 at Lala village in Arujo location, Homa Bay Town constituency. At the time of the attack, Nymabok was asleep together with his family made of his wife Violet Adhiambo and children. According to Violet Adhiambo, these people stormed the house, ordered him to give his M-Pesa pin but he resisted and that is when they beat him to unconsciousness and dragged her husband.
“They broke into our house and ordered my husband to give his M-Pesa pin number. When he resisted they beat him unconscious and wrapped him with a cloth and set him ablaze,” Adhiambo said.
The family is now urging the police to speed up the investigation and bring the culprits to book. Dickson Orimba, who is a cousin to the deceased, said that they want to see police arrest the killers before Nyambok is buried. He added that the incident has left the family in quite frustrations and they want quick investigation as they seek psychological support.
“The deceased was the breadwinner in the family. His death has caused a huge economic setback to the family,” Orimba said.
