Fake lawyer Brian Mwenda has been released, RALINGO.com can authoritatively report.
Brian Mwenda, who had been held at the Muthaiga Police Station was released from police custody barely an hour after being arrested.
The “fake lawyer” who was initially label a fugitive of the law was released on a KSh 100,000 police cash bail.
News about his release was first made public by former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko through his social media pages.
Through a tweet seen by RALINGO.com, Mike Sonko took his time to thank DCI boss Mohamed Amin and Police Inspector General Japhet Koome for respecting the rule of law.
He did not end at that as he also thanked COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli for his invaluable assistance.
Mike Sonko wrapped up by thanking Kenyans who have been supporting and praying for Brian Mwenda.

Brian Mwenda’s release came barely an hour after he was escorted to Muthaiga Police Station where he was expected to spend the night.
Brian Mwenda’s holding came hot on the heels of a serious grilling at the DCI Headquarters where he had presented himself accompanied by Mike Sonko and others.
Brian Mwenda recently grabbed headlines after being unmasked as a fake advocate.
In an earlier statement from the Law Society of Kenya, President Eric Theuri had disclosed Brian Mwenda faces a number of cases of identity theft and forgery.
Through the statement, Eric Theuri disclosed LSK will ensure Brian Mwenda is prosecuted to the full extent of the law, holding that the case will serve as a perfect example to people who may want to follow Mwenda’s footsteps.
