The Cabinet Secretary for Education Mr. Ezekiel Machogu has now made it clear when the results for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, for the year 2023 will be released.
Machogu addressed the press saying that the candidates who sat the exams should expect their results in January 2024. This has come as a surprise to many as it has been a norm that the candidates receive their results before the Christmas festival.
Recently, some false publications made headlines speculating that the results would be released between December 16th to December 22nd. The Kenya National Examination Council, KNEC, refuted the claims saying the results will only be released once they are done with marking and all other logistics.
Taking the release date to next year is almost similar to the previous years when the results were being announced as late as even February of the following year after the exams. Things changed during the Matiang’i era when the results would be released as quick as December before Christmas.
By taking time before releasing the results, the Ministry is probably trying to ensure no mistakes and errors are made compared to this year’s KCPE results which were marred with a lot of errors, raising serious concerns from Kenyans.
