There was drama yesterday after Easy Coach bus company gave an order to their customers to stop with immediate effect carrying Omena and fish in their buses as an accompanying luggage.
The company, in their statement, said that they were not going to allow customers to carry these products due to their smell which some customers had raised concerns over, saying that Omena and fish that are mixed with their luggages contaminated them.
Funnily, this order did not last a day as they quickly lifted it and said that there is no problem carrying the initially banned items as long as they are well packaged. This followed wild reaction from those customers from the Western region who promised to boycott the bus for their rival companies.
Logically, all long distance buses are majorly used by the Luhya and Luo communities who are also the main consumers of the Omena and fish. This ban would mean that those who wish to carry some portions of the said to Nairobi or any city would be forced to use an alternative choice. This is why Easy Coach decided to avert the impending danger by lifting the ban.
