After a whole week of searching and trailing, the officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, DCI have managed to arrest Ann Adhiambo Akinyi who is the main suspect in the murder of the then Acting Director of Finance at Nairobi Hospital Eric Maigo.
According to the report by the DCI officers, Adhiambo was arrested at around 8 pm at Bombolulu area in Kibera slums. This followed a tip off that the officers received from a concerned citizen. They found her hiding in a friend’s house where they arrested her. She was detained at Muthaiga police station but was to be transferred to Kilimani police station where the case is being handled before she is presented to court today.
Adhiambo was exposed by the CCTV pictures obtained at Eric Maigo’s residence located at Woodley estate in Kilimani. She is the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of Maigo who was found dead with over 16 knife stab wounds. He was an employee at Nairobi Hospital where he worked as an acting Director of Finance and motive behind his murder still remains unknown.
The arrest of Ann Adhiambo will now help the investigation officers to unravel the reasons for her to be involved in the murder. Preliminary reports indicated that Adhiambo is still young and had schooled at an approved school.
