This is a rundown of courses offered at Kijabe College of Health Sciences. It is a Christian based middle level training foundation that was established in 1980. The principle college is situated at Kijabe Mission Hospital along Kijabe Road in Lari, Kiambu County.

Courses Offered at Kijabe College of Health Sciences

1.Diploma In Nursing 

The course is accredited by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK). It takes 3 years and 6 months to complete. The fee for this program is Ksh 56,000 per semester. There are two intakes every year, one in January and the other in September.

Admission Requirements

• C plain and above in KCSE,
• C plain in English OR Kiswahili
• C plain in Biology OR Biological sciences

• C- in Mathematics OR Physics OR in Chemistry

2. Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery

The course is accredited by the Clinical Officers Council (COC). It takes 3 years to complete. The fee for this program is Ksh 56,000 per semester. There is only one intake every year, in September.

• C plain and above in KCSE,
• C plain in English or Kiswahili
• C plain in Biology or Biological sciences
• C- in Mathematics or Physics
• C- in Chemistry

Higher Diploma Courses

1. Higher Diploma in Nurse Anesthesia

Admission Requirements

•Must have qualified as a KRCHN-Kenya Registered Nurse Anaesthesia
• Have at least TWO years of clinical experience.
• Intake:  2 intakes every year, one in March and the other in October.

Course Duration: 1 year and 6 months.

2. Higher Diploma in Perioperative Nursing

Admission Requirements

•Must have qualified as a KRPON- Kenya Registered Perioperative Nursing
• Have at least TWO years of clinical experience.
• Intake:  2 intakes every year, one in March and the other in October.

Course Duration: 1 Year

3. Higher Diploma in Critical Care Nursing

Admission Requirements

•Must have qualified as a KRCCN- Kenya Registered Critical Care Nursing
• Have at least TWO years of clinical experience.
• Intake:  2 intakes every year, one in March and the other in October.

Course Duration: 1 Year

4. Higher Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care for Clinical Officers

Admission Requirements

• Must have qualified as a Clinical Officers
• Have at least ONE year of clinical experience.
• Intake:  2 intakes every year, one in March and the other in October.

Course Duration: 1 Year
