Pupils who were candidates in this year’s KCPE and the inaugural KPSEA examinations are now expected to receive their results any time within this week. This is according to reports from media outlets and privy sources from the ministry of education.
The only thing that remains to deter the release is the absence of president in the country. Usually, before any result of national examination is released, the education cabinet secretary hands over summary and report of the results to the president. Therefore, since William Ruto is still outside the country on his visit to France and Germany, the results cannot be released until he returns.
It is now expected that once he jets back, the results will be released and the 1.4 million candidates who sat their KCPE and the 1.2 million who did the first ever KPSEA exams will know how they performed. The candidates who did their KCPE will make history as the last group of the famous 8-4-4 education system which had been in place for over three decades. This will now pave way for the full implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum in primary schools.
