Churchill Show comedian Akuku Danger has been thrown into deep mourning after he lost his sister. The comedian shared via Facebook that his small sister had lost the battle to sickle cell disease that she was born with. According to him, he woke up and was saddened to receive the sad news of the sister’s death.
Akuku who is also a sickle cell disease patient has been battling the disease for a long time just in a similar way to his sister. He has been on and off the hospital. Last year he stayed in hospital for almost one month. His hospital bill accumulated to over 2 million prompting fellow comedians and celebrities to come in through fundraising to help him.
Sickle cell anemia is one of a group of inherited diseases known as sickle cell disease. It affects the shape of red blood cells, which carry oxygen to all body parts. Sickle cell disease is quite dangerous and has no cure. Those born with sickle cell anaemia suffer from extreme body pains, infections, fatigue and other types of complications. They are highly vulnerable to bad weather conditions such as coldness.
