CHIEF CALLS ON RESIDENTS TO WORK TOGETHER TO END CRIME AND ILLEGAL ALCOHOL

Chief of Embakasi West Constituency, Umoja area, Mr. Wamboka Okeke has expressed the need for residents to cooperate to end cases of illegal alcohol and lack of security in those streets.

Speaking to Tonzi Radio yesterday evening, Chief Okeke said that many young people are addicted to illegal alcohol and robbing people on the streets.

This is one of the sources of insecurity in the area which has become a threat to residents.

However, Chief Okeke has mentioned that these cases have been caused by the unemployment from the graduates but their certificates have not yet been able to give them hope.

In addition, the chief has asked the young people to engage in small businesses that will provide a legitimate income for their families, that will not lead them to endanger their lives as many of them find themselves in criminal gangs of looting and extortion where they end up being arrested by the police or beaten by the people.

Moreover chief has called on parents to make sure they know their young people’s jobs and businesses they are engaged in while asking the community in general to report any incident of insecurity or the sale of any illegal alcohol and drugs going on in the streets to reduce and stop such cases.
