BONEFIRES IN NAKURU AS GIKOMBA, MIGORI STREETS REMAIN CLEAR
So far Nakuru has taken the lead in today’s maandamano after a number of car tyre bonefires were lit in the city in today’s protests expected to continue till Friday.
Nakuru was equally active in the last protests citing their disatifaction in the current KK governnent move to raise taxes beyond their reach. The sad state of affairs and high cost of living remain the biggest problem prompting Kenyans to go out to the streets.
Despite the directive by Interior CS Kithure Kindiki that activities will continue normally in our urban towns, Gikomba Market in Nairobi is clearly empty with just a handful staying around to guard their commodities.
Migori Town on the other hand has been swept clean and seemingly everyone is in their houses waiting to hear the next cause of action. Police have made the town inaccessible. However protests may build up in the early hours of the afternoon according to the atmosphere in the Tanzania border town.
