Sadness and anxiety prevailed in Kamagut area, Uasin Gishu county on Sunday morning after the bodies of 4 middle-aged youths were found strewn in a maize field believed to be managed by KDF officers from the Moi army camp, in Eldoret.
According to previous reports, the young men were killed for illegally entering the army farm and were beaten to death by the farm guards. The deputy commissioner of Turbo sub-county quoted.
A statement said that the young men had entered the farm to pick corn that had been harvested after the harvest but were attacked by guards of the area.
“Three bodies of young people were found on Sunday morning while the fourth one died in the hospital and the others are also receiving treatment. All those young people were between the ages of 18 and 25,” the commissioner said.
The locals, however, feel that the young men may have been killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped here, others saying that it is due to the hardships of life that pushed the young men to enter the farm to collect the remains of corn after the harvest.
KDF officers in collaboration with the locals have already started a search in the wide field to find if there are other bodies that are scattered in the area.
