The propposed new office of the opposition leader will be given 5 percent of political parties funds. For instance, in this financial year, office could have been given 50 million Kenyan shillings. The new office was suggested by Kenya Kwanza during the ongoing dialogue. The same office had also been proposed in the Building Bridges Initiative, BBI which was abandoned two years ago.
William Ruto yesterday said that he is ready to create and find this opposition office. He said that those who are criticizing him will be using it instead of going to streets for maandamano which has lead to loss of lives and property. If created, Raila Odinga and his Azimio team will be the first occupants of the office.
