60 MILLION ON THE TABLE FOR SHABANA FC | GOVERNOR SIMBA ARATI ANNOUNCES.
Last evening Kisii Governor Simba Arati hosted the darling of National Super League Shabana Fc. The event went down at the Kempinski Hotel in Nairobi having attracted a good number of Kisii leaders. While Shabana Fc is hopeful to lift the NSL trophy come July 8th at the Gusii Stadium, the team management is focused on puting a good fight ahead of next season. Plans are underway to ensure they have a good start. Registration of Shabana fans countrywide is an ongoing process in a bid to ensure the Kenyan face of the team is balanced.
“You have made me love football”, began Governor Arati in what would become a night of surprises for the team. In as much as former Kisii Governor James Ongwae did his level best to groundbreak Gusii Stadium, Governor Arati has in his budget 26 Million shillings for the facelift and drainage system. This does not include plans to construct other sister stadiums in Kisii County.
The Governor who had just disbursed 145 Million shillings in bursaries in Kisii before flying out for the Kempinski dinner, did announce a 20Million donation from Investors next season to sustain Shabana Fc activities and as motivation to see the team forge ahead.
Kisii County has set aside Ksh 27M for sports and this is majorly to look into matters scouting for talent and nurturing the different genres of sports in Kisii.
Arati did highlight on plans to have the Shabana Ladies Football Club in place to complement the men’s.
Aside from the Ksh 20M season donation, the investors and sponsors have promised an extra Ksh 10M if Shabana wins the league.
The Governor was keen on regional unity especially that of Kisii and Nyamira thus encouraged both counties to embrace brotherhood.
At the dinner event for Shabana FC, Governor Simba Arati presented a reward of Ksh 500,000 (half a Million) to the team through the club’s treasure. He did promise to bring on board fellow leaders and elders like Chris Obure and Prof. Sam Ongeri to the Shabana attention.
