Kenyan songstress Esther Akoth better known as Akothee has reiterated that her former manager Nelly Oaks who was reportedly her former lover will always be a part of her family.
In a recent interview during the launch of her daughter’s venture, she heaped praises on her former manager saying,
“To me, Nelly will never be an ex. That’s all, allow me to dance.The man behind my brand, my best friend. He has a big heart, and handling me with all my drama is a huge task. Nelly is family, and we come from far. His grandfather left a legacy in my community,”
She expressed her gratitude to Nelly Oaks further revealing that Nelly made her children feel safe as he always takes care of them whenever they go out with him. She said,
“When you see Nelly around me, I don’t care what you want to think. He takes care of my children and goes out with them,”
Madam Boss Akothee offered advice to single mothers while sharing her experience raising her children single-handedly. She reminded the attendees that being a single mother came with son many responsibilities including making decisions for oneself. She said,
“You don’t become a single mother by choice. My children understood the assignment and decided to play a child’s role. Being a single mother, you make decisions by yourself, ask yourself questions, call yourself a board meeting leading everything,”
The launch of the Chateau 254 Cellar and Castro Club was a success to her daughter Vesha Okello. It was attended by celebrities including Betty Kyallo, Jacky Nyaminde, Jacky Bike and Sean Andrew among others.The wines and spirits bar opened its doors to the public even in the wake of public anticipation and anxiety.
